Veriscan is a proprietary technology introduced by PAMP Suisse to help fight back against the production and sale of counterfeit precious metal products. When each bar is minted by the refinery, the microscopic topography of its surface is scanned and cataloged by PAMP. That scan is associated with a scannable QR code included on the side of each bar’s packaging, making it easy for consumers to validate the authenticity of their purchase by simply scanning the code.
In Roman mythology, Fortuna was the goddess of fortune. Her role in early Roman religions was the personification of luck, both bad and good. Her image is included on the obverse side of these gold bars. Featured with a blindfold over her eyes and a cornucopia atop her head, Fortuna’s clasped hands at the bottom of the image catch the bounty of riches flowing forth from the cornucopia.
On the reverse side of each bar are the engravings that offer security and identifying characteristics of the product. From top to bottom, these engravings include the PAMP Suisse corporate logo, weight of the bar, its metal content, purity, and the assayer’s mark. Every bar is issued an individual serial number, which is engraved on the bar and listed on the accompanying packaging.
PAMP Suisse was founded in Ticino, Switzerland in 1977. Originally operating independently, today the refiner is part of the global precious metal and financial services firm of MKS S.A. PAMP is a direct subsidiary of Geneva-based MKS Group.
